Celestron Evolution 8 HD with Starsense
By tightening the alt-zimuth clutches, does the tube remain stationary in weak or semi-strong winds (does it vibrate?)?
The Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 HD telescope with StarSense is designed with precisely machined manual release clutches and worm gears for both axes, which helps stabilise the telescope tube. However, in weak or semi-strong winds, there may still be some vibration or movement, especially if the clutches are not adjusted correctly.
To minimise vibration, it is important to adjust the clutches appropriately and ensure that the tripod, made of stainless steel, is stable and well levelled. In stronger wind conditions, it may be necessary to take additional measures to stabilise the telescope, such as using additional weights on the tripod or placing it in a more protected location.
