How to extend the lifetime of your disc brake pads
Bed-in disc brake pads extend the lifespan of the pads considerably. Squeeze them in carefully and ensure that the pad just audibly touches the brake disc for approximately 100 meters at a speed of around 25 km/h. Now squeeze a little harder on the brake so that the speed decreases to approximately 5 km/h, and then slowly increase the speed while gently squeezing the brake. Repeat this 10-12 times and the pads are worn in. Never brake to a stop with the brake still squeezed to prevent damage to the rotor. Always bed-in the front and rear brakes separately.
