Superthermal™ Hydrobase® is our proprietary composite fabric for baselayers, combining polypropylene and polyester fibers into a lightweight and warming material with excellent moisture regulation. The fabric construction is designed to regulate body temperature by directing moisture away from the skin during high activity, while also providing excellent thermal insulation in extremely cold conditions. Here’s how it works: the hydrophilic polyester and hydrophobic polypropylene fibers work together to pull moisture away from the skin. Moisture is drawn away by the outer hydrophilic polyester fibers, allowing it to evaporate easily, while the inner hydrophobic polypropylene fibers keep the skin dry even after prolonged sweating.
