The Women's Monviso Hooded Grid Fleece Jacket by Vaude is an elastic fleece jacket for women designed for ski touring and mountaineering. In winter, the most heat is lost through the head. The hood is integrated, adjustable in width, and fits perfectly on the head, allowing you to forgo a hat while still keeping your ears warm. There are two front pockets for valuables, energy bars, and more. These pockets are positioned slightly higher than what you might be used to with other jackets, making them easily accessible even with a harness on. This ensures that everything stays secure and doesn't get lost in the snow. Additionally, the jacket features a full-length front zipper with a backing strip, making it easy to put on and take off. The backing strip prevents fabric from getting caught in the zipper or pinching the skin, ensuring the jacket is comfortable and durable. The sleeves are equipped with thumb loops that serve multiple functions. With your thumbs hooked in, it’s easy to pull tight-fitting gloves over the jacket without creating folds at the wrists. Moreover, the palms and especially the pulse points are kept warm by both the gloves and the jacket. When you need to raise your hands overhead, for example, to grab onto a rock in a climbing passage, the sleeves won’t slide down your arms but will stay exactly where you want them. The jacket is warm, moisture-regulating, and quick-drying, with pockets compatible with climbing harnesses and backpacks, and is made from environmentally friendly recycled materials, being climate-neutral.
