Das Öffnen und Schließen des Trelock FS 500 gelingt einfach, zumal sich das Faltschloss auch durch eine sehr gute Haltbarkeit und eine geringe Schadstoffbelastung auszeichnen kann. Die Aufbruchsicherheit hingegen lässt zu wünschen übrig, die Halterung ist nicht gut und auch das hohe Gewicht könnte hier stören.
