With three predefined battery modes – Performance, Endurance, and Ultra – you can record with GPS tracking for between 25 and 120 hours. When you start a recording, an estimate of the remaining battery life in the current mode is displayed. If this is insufficient, you can switch to another mode at any time. The Suunto 9 smartly reminds you of the battery status based on your activity history, ensuring it is fully charged for your next outing. The watch detects when the battery level reaches a low threshold during training and automatically suggests switching to another battery mode.

Since GPS consumes a lot of power, battery life for accurately recording distance and route during long ultramarathons is often a limiting factor. The unique Suunto FusedTrack algorithm provides improved route and distance data by combining GPS and motion sensor data. This allows you to extend battery life through lower GPS performance without compromising accuracy.
