For the high torque of e-MTBs, robust components are required. The straight chain line of the EX1 allows for a wider and more stable chain compared to drivetrains that are not specifically designed for e-MTBs. The EX1 chain offers smooth operation during gear shifts and enables greater power transfer to the rear wheel. The EX1 chain is wider and designed for the high torque and heavy loads typical of e-MTB use.

PowerLock: SRAM's chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool-free, secure, and consistent way to connect our chains. Although no special tools are needed for the installation of PowerLock, due to the tight tolerance range of 8-, 9-, 10-, 11-, and 12-speed drivetrains, each PowerLock is intended for one-time use only.
