The Stuby Short with a short right side is ideal for twist grip shifters like Rohloff, Nexus, and Alfine. While inner bar ends bring the hands inward and improve aerodynamics on long, straight stretches, the classic bar ends of the Stuby grips offer the advantage of transferring more power to the pedals when climbing by pulling on the outside of the handlebars. This applies both when standing and sitting.

Nevertheless, even on long and straight routes, the stress on the hands, shoulders, and neck can be altered and reduced by gripping the bar ends. This is where the great advantage of the Stuby shape comes in: the bar ends can be gripped very far back due to their unique shape, which keeps the back angle more upright. At the same time, the Stuby bar end can also be gripped like conventional bar ends, making the riding position slightly sportier.
