Barends for the inside = Innerbarends! Barends originated in the early days of mountain biking and are typically mounted at the end of the handlebars. From an ergonomic perspective, this is a very good idea. Over time, as straight handlebars became less common and raised handlebars gained popularity, barends disappeared. However, now that handlebars have become flatter and significantly wider again, barends make sense once more. We mount the barends on the inside, hence the name Innerbarends, which presents a slight contradiction. Innerbarends are thus a new, innovative evolution of the classic barends, but with an unprecedented safety aspect. Despite the changed grip position, the brake levers remain easily accessible at all times.
