Seating discomfort occurs disproportionately often. The extreme sitting position combined with long riding sessions presents an ergonomic challenge. The 613 R ERGOWAVE® shifts the pressure from the raised rear, although it does not fully transfer it to the sit bones, it does direct it for the first time in triathlon towards the sit bone branches. The perineal area is relieved, and the additional support at the back improves power transfer. A positive side effect is the reduction of skin irritations.

The adaptation of the SQlab step saddle came five years after the SQlab ERGOWAVE® shape, due to the details involved. The coordination between the position and height of the step in combination with the tapering, dip, width, and the downward sloping nose required a very high level of development effort. The 613 ERGOWAVE® R does not have just any shape, but the perfect shape for the most challenging of all sitting positions in cycling. A total of 18 years of SQlab experience contributes to this innovation: from various sit bone distances and anatomies to solving customer issues. The development of saddles aims not only to provide more comfort and relief but also to enhance performance in competition.
