Conventional clipless pedals force the feet into an almost parallel position. The extended axle of the SQlab 502 clipless pedal allows for a more physiologically natural foot position. This prevents unilateral strain, particularly in cases of fibular head syndrome. Unilateral clipless pedals for trekking bikes are available in four different lengths. The version with the shorter axle is suitable for smaller shoe sizes and a smaller sit bone distance, thus reducing the so-called Q-factor.
