How Sprindex Works
The spring hardness of a spring is the force required to compress the spring by a certain distance. The spring hardness is determined by four characteristics: wire diameter, coil diameter, material, and the number of active coils. More active coils result in a lower spring hardness, while fewer active coils lead to a higher spring hardness. Think of it this way: the less wire needs to be bent, the stiffer the spring. By turning the Sprindex dial, Sprindex changes the number of active coils that can be compressed. The set spring hardness is displayed through a window in the dial.
