Shimano has built a global reputation in the mountain bike shifting sector with its Deore XT group. The new XT group has been completely redesigned and optimized, now featuring Side Swing technology.

The Side Swing technology offers a significant improvement in shifting performance. It has been specifically developed with modern trail bikes in mind, providing 15 mm more clearance between the seat tube and tire, while the entirely revamped and optimized cable routing and actuation reduce the force required for shifting.

The multi-adapter allows for mounting on tubes with diameters of 28.6 and 31.8 mm. Without the adapter, the derailleur is compatible with 34.9 mm. The cable entry for Shimano derailleurs with Side Swing technology is located at the front, so the shift cable must be routed inside or above the downtube.
