Shimano Deore SL-M5100 Rapidfire Plus

With its quick accessibility and smooth operation, Shimano's Deore Rapidfire Plus shift lever provides smooth control on the trail. The new I-Spec EV lever is versatile and adjustable, including an extended adjustment range in the longitudinal direction.

2-Way Release
The release lever of a Rapidfire Plus shift lever is usually called a trigger because it is pulled like the trigger of a gun in the direction of the handle. The release lever of the Rapidfire Plus shift levers from Shimano Alivio to XTR can be operated in the same way. However, it can also be switched optionally by thumb pressure.

Rapidfire Plus
Since 1985, Rapidfire Plus has been used by mountain bikers. It remains the first choice for various groups of riders, ranging from XC racers to freeriders and downhillers. Rapidfire Plus is suitable for fast shifting, allowing the rider to downshift up to three gear steps with one shift stroke. All Rapidfire Plus shift levers, from Shimano Deore to XTR, are equipped with 2-Way Release, meaning that the shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pressing with the thumb.

Optical Gear Display
The Optical Gear Display shows the rider the engaged gear. The rider can see how many gears are left to shift up and down, allowing for more conscious shifting.

I-Spec EV
I-Spec EV creates a clean, action-optimized cockpit layout that helps riders achieve increased concentration and greater flexibility. Thanks to the wider adjustment range, different riders can find their optimal position, regardless of riding style, preferences, and body type.
