The specially designed, computer-generated sprockets feature specific tooth profiles and strategically positioned ramps that optimize chain guidance during shifting. Conventional sprockets allow the chain to ride up on the tips of the teeth before it settles onto the sprocket. HG sprockets guide the chain immediately, directly, and without riding up onto the next sprocket. This results in fast, smooth, and silent gear changes.
