Product details

Cranksets and bottom brackets have a decisive impact on the overall performance of a bicycle. Smooth operation, effective power transfer, and high durability are essential factors when choosing a crankset. Shimano manufactures a wide range of different cranksets and compatible bottom brackets, ensuring that there is an optimally suited system for every bike and discipline. Hollowtech II works with 24 mm axles and bearings. After analyzing all factors and conducting tests, we opted for axles and bearings with a 24 mm diameter. This provides the greatest possible balance of rotational efficiency, stiffness, load capacity, sealing, and weight, all in proven Shimano quality. The Octalink eight-point engagement of the bottom bracket axle and crank ensures optimized engagement and more efficient power transfer. The hollow axle significantly increases the stiffness of the bearing. Angled ribs ensure a permanently load-bearing connection between the bottom bracket axle and the crank.
