Schwalbe Aerothane 29" MTB

A bicycle tube designed for high athletic performance should ideally meet two conditions perfectly: 1. It should hold air long, stable, and puncture-proof. 2. It should be very lightweight. A conventional butyl tube cannot achieve both at the same time. Therefore, Schwalbe has taken a different approach. They have completely eliminated traditional black rubber. Instead, Schwalbe, in collaboration with the chemical specialists at BASF, has developed an entirely new special thermoplastic material for bicycle tubes. It is called Aerothan. Aerothan represents a new evolutionary stage. From now on, Schwalbe can produce high-quality bicycle tubes with extremely low weight while maintaining the same air retention and puncture resistance as conventional butyl tubes. Schwalbe calls the new tubes Evo Tube. The world's first Evo Tube is now available for mountain bike use. The weight savings are immense. The Evo Tube weighs only one-third compared to a standard Schwalbe tube. Even compared to the Extralight tube, it saves almost half the weight.
