The Elite 1 plastic table tennis ball is ideal for advanced recreational play. The carton contains three white balls. Since July 2014, the classic celluloid balls have been gradually replaced by the new plastic balls at ITTF tournaments and in most high-ranking leagues. These plastic balls are more environmentally friendly to produce and offer comparable playing characteristics. They are distinguished from conventional celluloid balls by the imprint "40+".
