Salewa Cristallo Warm Alpine Merino Responsive short sleeve baselayer

The Cristallo is our short-sleeved, warm, moisture-wicking, and skin-friendly winter baselayer. It naturally inhibits odor formation and is perfect for intense days in the mountains. Its name comes from Monte Cristallo, the distinctive mountain northeast of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Moisture-wicking, thermoregulating, comfortable. The Alpine Merino Responsive fabric is a hybrid blend made of 78% merino wool and 22% polyamide. It transports moisture away from the body and dries quickly. The synthetic fibers are enhanced with our patented Responsive technology, which is based on a special blend of natural, thermoreactive minerals that recycle the body's far infrared energy (FIR) and release it slowly. This results in improved performance and faster recovery, ensuring that you stay warm for longer. These benefits remain throughout the fabric's lifespan, as Responsive is an integral part of the fabric and does not wash out. Alpine Merino Responsive is also bluesign® certified.

Innovative knit construction. The Cristallo is produced using a special knitting process where a super-fine merino yarn is spun around a nylon core. This process not only makes the resulting fiber stronger and fluffier but also 30% lighter than comparable baselayer fibers. Additionally, the high polyamide content enhances its durability and stretch properties. The baselayer features a close-fitting design with a round neckline and an integrated gusset in the underarm area for greater freedom of movement. It is also completely seamless, eliminating any irritating seams.
