Merino wool is perfect for base layers in cold weather. It can absorb moisture and effectively wicks sweat away from the skin, ensuring comfort and regulating body temperature. It also provides excellent insulation when wet, although it may take some time to dry. The artificially manufactured synthetic fibers are durable, long-lasting, lightweight, and shape-retaining. They can also dry extremely quickly. This quick-drying, moisture-wicking, insulating, and durable material mix is ideal for base layers in the mountains.
