Prices depend on supply and demand, suppliers and availability of goods. For all these reasons, prices may vary. It is possible that the prices are not the same as in previous years or that they are simply from a different supplier. The Denali Ascent is a unisex model from the MSR line and therefore not comparable with the Revo or Lightning models where there are specifically narrower women's shoes. The Denali Ascent has the very good feature that it works from small children's shoes to large snowboard boots due to its universal binding. The shape of the Denali Ascent also makes it suitable for a very wide weight range. Spirch from very light to over 90 kg. Of course, if the 90 kg person has to track in 40 cm of fresh snow, he would be happy not to have to walk in front. In the case of second or third position in the group or on trails and compact snow, it works great, even in this weight class.
The snowshoe has optimal buoyancy up to 100kg.
No ratchet fastening. Instead, a buckle with a slightly elasticated strap with buckle/spike, which nevertheless holds perfectly and is universally adjustable.
For hard snow up to 125 kg, otherwise the extension is recommended, depending on the snow condition and body weight. I found the following instructions on the website of the Austrian Alpine Club. Alpine Club: https://www.alpenverein.at/tk-linz/kontakt-service/bedienung_schneeschuhe.pdf

no you need to buy the tails.
I had already bought my extension for the almost identical predecessor model, but it also fits the current Denali Ascdent. The good, stable side edges of the Denali recently proved themselves once again on icy mountain trails in places: almost like crampons. Still a good choice for winter off the beaten track. Often on the move with them: www.braendji.ch Volkher
