The Paul Comp Racer brake is a center pull caliper brake with a long reach. Based on classic Mafac models, the Paul Comp Racer brake is an evolution in terms of materials and manufacturing techniques. The arms are CNC-machined with a T-profile, which increases their stiffness.

It is important to note that the braze-on version of the Paul Comp Racer brake cannot be mounted on brake bosses in the classic cantilever position, nor on U-brake bosses. The center mount version of the Racer brake features a bridge component that spans behind the joint and attaches to the frame. Options include a shorter bolt (recessed) for modern frames and a longer one (non-recessed) for older frames. The reach of the center mount Racer brake is 57 to 67 mm when measured diagonally from the center of the hole to the top edge of the brake pads. 27" bikes can be converted to 700c or 700c to 650b.
