The NXT/BLOB tube from BARBIERI is made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), a modern material that allows for the design of tubes that are lighter and more compact than traditional butyl tubes. It also offers higher resistance to punctures and pinch flats, making this tube a fully recyclable product.

The tube is entirely manufactured in Italy and helps reduce the weight of the rotating mass, thereby increasing the flexibility of the wheels. Compared to a standard butyl tube 700x18-25, the weight savings is 45 g, which is about 43%. This reduced weight is immediately noticeable and guarantees a better riding experience, both in terms of responsiveness and flexibility.

For storage, Barbieri recommends keeping the tube folded as in the packaging to ensure the puncture sealant remains effective for a longer time. The sealant can dry out over time. If it begins to solidify, you can add the separately available BLOB NXT sealant from BARBIERI. Barbieri suggests adding 30 ml for road bikes, 50 ml for gravel bikes, and 80 ml for mountain bikes.

If the sealant cannot seal the hole immediately, simply rotate the wheel so that the sealant spreads evenly across the entire surface of the tube and quickly pump it back up. Once you are home, Barbieri recommends locating the hole and repairing it with the repair kit designed for TPU BARBIERI NXT tubes, which includes patches.
