Description Merino Cool stands for our new fibre symbiosis of finest merino wool and the cellulose fibre Tencel(TM). The natural fibre is obtained from sustainably sourced eucalyptus wood and produced in Austria's Lenzing in a particularly environmentally friendly manufacturing process. The fibre mix impresses with its extremely pleasant wearing comfort and its triple cooling effect. How does it work?

The high basic fibre moisture content (13% vs. 1% for polyester) ensures refreshment, while the fibre surface is hydrophilic. It therefore stays pleasantly dry and does not feel wet - but nice and cool. In addition, Tencel(TM) makes use of the cooling energy of evaporative cooling. This effect is due to its high water absorption capacity and fast drying properties. Compared to cotton, the fibre absorbs 50% more moisture and dries twice as fast as polyester. Last but not least, refreshment can be even easier! Smooth fibre surfaces like in Tencel(TM) irritate the skin less than the crimped surface of cotton and provide a refreshing feeling.
What else should be said besides the sustainable production and cool properties of Tencel(TM) - just like merino wool, the cellulose fibre protects against odour-causing bacteria and is particularly durable - which, by the way, is where the name comes from: Tencel = Tenacity + Cellulose.
