Volleyball - Training und Coaching

In close collaboration with numerous top volleyball coaches and other experts, the main author and editor Dr. Jimmy Czimek has developed a guide that serves as the training foundation for all youth and junior age groups from U12 to U23 in volleyball and beach volleyball. The comprehensive concept covers not only technical, tactical, and athletic training but also training planning and documentation, coaching, game observation, as well as psychological training and nutrition. In the spirit of combined training, it connects the simultaneous development of athletes in both sports, volleyball and beach volleyball.

The training resource for C-/B- and A-coach education clarifies the game structure of volleyball and beach volleyball with statistics from national and international elite levels. It illustrates numerous game techniques through a series of images with over 1,600 photos and visualizes the game systems as well as tactics in reception, blocking, field defense, and attack support in over 1,000 illustrations.

For the first time, all game systems in small court games 2 vs. 2 (U12), 3 vs. 3 (U13), and 4 vs. 4 (U14) are presented. The most common game systems in large court games 6 vs. 6 (U16 to adult level) are discussed in detail, as well as the individual tactics of all game elements. Practical insights into the athletic training of volleyball players are provided, basic tactics in beach volleyball are presented, and the synergy effects between volleyball and beach volleyball are explained. Additionally, there is a practical explanation of talent identification.
