Product details

The Maxxis Ikon is a versatile XC tire designed for a variety of conditions. With its predictable handling, the Ikon is also popular among downhill riders.

EXO Sidewall Stability: This is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This dense fabric is lightweight and very flexible, ensuring that the tire's performance is not compromised. Choose the EXO protection option for increased durability on gravel, XC, and light trails.

Tubeless Ready (TR): Tubeless tires offer the rider numerous advantages: the ability to use lower air pressures, which improves traction; reduced rolling resistance compared to a tire with a tube; and a lower risk of punctures without a tube.

The new MaxxSpeed Single Compound blend is the main performance advantage of this new tire, thanks to its silicone composition, which enhances rolling efficiency while providing grip, even on wet surfaces. This new blend is used in Maxxis's high-quality competition tires, reducing rolling resistance by 25% compared to the old 3C MaxxSpeed blend. This new mixture will provide greater durability for the tire.

As an all-rounder, the Ikon has been a favourite for years, with solid and predictable grip in wet and dry conditions. In terms of rolling resistance, the heavy tyre still shows good values, the puncture protection is excellent, in the puncture test it is average.
