A true racing tire for real racers. Large volume, fast, with plenty of grip – the IKON delivers exemplary performance across a variety of terrain, from hard to loose surfaces. On rocks and roots, especially in wet conditions, the 3C and eXCeption versions really shine. For very rough, rocky terrain, the IKON 3C is also available in the EXO-Protection version, which provides reliable sidewall protection with minimal additional weight.

Exo Protection: This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tires. It is tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible, ensuring that the tire's performance remains impressively good.

3C Max Speed: The three different Maxxis 3C Triple Compound MTB tires all use a harder base compound, topped with two progressively softer compounds for optimal handling in their respective applications. Different, individually optimized compounds are used for each area of use. The 3C Maxx Speed for XC and some All-Mountain/Enduro tires is designed for minimal rolling resistance due to its hard base and fast compound in the center of the tread, while still providing superior grip in corners with the grippy compound on the sides, even in wet conditions. Typical of MAXXIS is also the very long lifespan.
