Product details

Are you looking for an all-round racing tire that rolls exceptionally well, is very lightweight, and offers grip in almost all situations? The Aspen is Maxxis' answer to this requirement. In the center of the tread, closely spaced, slightly angled siped knobs alternate with small, beveled block knobs. This design redefines the ideal combination of high traction and low rolling resistance. The side knobs are arranged in pairs from the outside to the inside, providing significantly more grip in corners. Despite an all-round suitable knob height of over 3 mm and excellent puncture protection with Silkworm Polyfiber Shielding, the Aspen weighs only 460 g. Together with the eXCeption casing featuring 120 TPI and our outstanding eXCeption rubber compound, the Aspen becomes an XC racing tire. The Aspen impresses with top performance in handling, traction, and grip, far exceeding that of competing models.

Rank 2 out of 16MountainBIKE16 Race-Reifen im TestReleaseAugust 2025

Despite its thin profile, the wide, bulbous Aspen bites well and surfs dry trails quickly. However, caution is advised in wet and slippery conditions, as it loses grip early on. Medium rolling resistance, rather heavy. Very good puncture resistance.

This test report belongs to a different type: Aspen (29 x 2.40, 61-622)
