Lazer Sport Century MIPS Helmet

The Century MIPS helmet is the result of 100 years of experience. By integrating all knowledge and user requirements into a single concept, the Century sets a new standard that does not compromise on protection, comfort, aerodynamics, or visibility. MIPS – the Multi-directional Impact Protection System – adds an extra safety aspect to bicycle helmets. Traditionally, bicycle helmets provide protection against vertically acting forces. However, rotational forces also come into play during a fall. MIPS ensures that these rotational forces are reduced, significantly lowering the risk of skull-brain trauma in the event of an impact. The helmet features an outer shell along with a movable insert that allows the head to move independently of the outer shell, thereby mitigating rotational forces. The MIPS system simply utilizes the natural protective function of the human brain and does not contradict the conventional protective functions of a bicycle helmet; it merely enhances them.
