In this outer casing, the liner is surrounded by a compression-free ring of linear steel strands. Additionally, these are wrapped in a Kevlar fabric to counteract the forces encountered during braking. The result is a significantly more direct and sensitive feel. They are ideally suited for mechanical disc brakes or brakes with continuous outer casings, where the pressure point is greatly improved.
