Product details
Similar in construction to the Rascal, the Flatpedal shoe Raid Amp also features an asymmetrical shaft with an ankle pad to better protect the inner side of the foot facing the crank. The main distinguishing feature, however, is the sole of the Raid Amp, which is specifically designed for flat pedals and lacks a Velcro strap: The SupTraction Rubber Soul FL (FL stands for Flatpedal) with an EVA midsole has a special pedal zone that extends from the balls of the feet to the entire midfoot. In front and behind this zone, there are climbing zones similar to those found in the sole of the Rascal. Another key focus during the development of the Raid Amp was the shoe's stiffness and flexibility in both longitudinal and lateral directions: Along the longitudinal axis, the Raid Amp has sufficient stiffness to stand stable on the pedal while still offering enough flex for comfortable rolling behavior when walking. In the lateral direction, the shaft-sole unit of the Raid Amp allows for tilting and steering movements of the foot on the pedal without the sole "tilting away" on the pedal. ION also stitches the shaft of the Raid Amp from synthetic leather. Beneath this, there is a stable, pre-shaped toe box in the toe area to protect against injuries from ground contact. A two-component insole is used as the footbed, which cushions the heel area while walking and supports the arch of the foot to reduce fatigue on long descents.
