Developing new shoe soles is somewhat like continuously improving your favorite recipe. The basic recipe remains the same; only the ingredients are refined and adjusted. Following this principle, the flat pedal shoes have been further refined with the optimal combination of grip, durability, usability, and style. The main ingredient, the Pin Tonic Sole Concept 2.0, has been enhanced to cater to the preferences of all riders. The new outsole features a positive profile at the front and rear, providing solid grip when you push or carry your bike. In contrast, the negative profile in the middle section offers perfect grip for the pins while riding. Additionally, the rubber compound has been updated to provide even more grip. While innovations are important, ION has not forgotten the tried-and-true ingredients, incorporating a comfortable EVA midsole and a cozy insole. Since grip is not the only element for optimal power transfer, the Scrub features a flatter profile in the toe area, increasing contact with the pedal. ION has learned that a good bike shoe is not just about grip; it also focuses on toe protection against rocks and roots, as well as ankle protection thanks to ankle pads and an asymmetrical shaft.
