The Rascal Select offers far more than uncompromising power transmission to the pedal: its construction combines rigidity in the longitudinal axis with flexibility in the transverse axis and in the shaft. This torsional design principle helps to prevent the foot from tipping over on the pedal. Special climbing and pedalling zones on the tread ensure reliable grip both on and off the pedal. The BOA Fit system on the upper instep ensures quick, effortless and precise adjustment of the fit. Thanks to this system, a seamless connection between equipment and rider can be created, resulting in speed and mobility. While the inner lining feels velvety soft when putting on the shoes, it shows its rough side if the heel slips out of the shoe. The roughened inner lining in one direction keeps the heel where it belongs - in the shoe. As the Rascal Select is designed for downhill-orientated riding, ION has placed the cleat area further back compared to all-mountain-orientated shoes. The cushioning EVA midsole absorbs shocks and vibrations, while the rubberised heel and reinforced toe cap absorb forces should you catch your foot on rocks or roots. The asymmetrically shaped upper protects the foot on the crank side while still offering full freedom of movement. The robust PU main fabric ensures durability and a long service life for this premium shoe. Breathable mesh inserts in the forefoot area ensure a pleasant climate inside the shoe.
