Ballschule Volleyball

The book "Ballschule Volleyball" is aimed at coaches working in clubs or ball school groups, as well as physical education teachers in primary and lower secondary schools. The curriculum is based on the central principles of development appropriateness, versatility, enjoyment, and implicit/explicit learning. It advocates for the integration of a cross-sport foundational training with established concepts of children's training in volleyball. The Ballschule Volleyball follows a competency-oriented approach, viewing the fundamental techniques as problem-solving tasks for the phases of Defensive Ball (1st contact), Controlled Ball (2nd contact), and Offensive Ball (3rd contact). In the extensive practical section of the book, primarily building block exercises with competitive character and volleyball-related game exercises are presented to improve a total of 20 basic competencies in coordination, sensorimotor-tactical skills, and technical abilities, which together form the ABC for beginner volleyball players.
