In developing the Rapid Red 5 DB, Fulcrum's research and development department utilized all their experience and technical solutions for road bike wheels and re-engineered them for routes beyond asphalt. For Strade Bianche, unpaved paths, and gravel roads, a wide channel is necessary, which measures 23 mm on this wheel, with low and extremely durable 24 mm rims to absorb shocks and ensure outstanding riding comfort, regardless of the bumps.

The profile allows for the mounting of Tubeless Ready tires ranging from 30 to 46 mm, with many adjustment options depending on the distance to be covered. The 24 straight-pull spokes, supported by a sturdy aluminum hub, provide ideal support for disconnected terrains as well as for the slightly increased weight of a bike ready for travel.
