This is achieved through a sophisticated manufacturing process. Starting from a 2.34 mm spoke, the diameter is reduced to 2 mm at the thread and to just 1.8 mm in the middle section using a cold forging technique. This results in a maximum weight saving of 173 g compared to spokes with a constant diameter. Despite the lightweight middle section, the DT Alpine III maintains maximum strength and reliability.
