Black Chili Compound refers to the revolutionary tread compound based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research. For BlackChili, Continental refines newly developed synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread mixtures. Continental uses carbon black particles at the nanoscale, which are optimized in shape and surface properties to tailor the mixture to the specific application of the tire. Tires with BlackChili Compound achieve an unprecedented level of performance. Compared to activated silica tires, BlackChili tires have a 26% lower rolling resistance, a 30% higher grip value, and a 5% higher mileage.
