Product details
A red flashlight is one of the most beneficial accessories you can own as an amateur astronomer, no matter how occasional your night sky observations may be. Even if you plan to observe with others, whether at a star party or in your own neighborhood, a red flashlight is an essential part of good star party etiquette. When you are outside practicing astronomy or engaging in any nighttime activity where you need to see as well as possible, any white light is a disadvantage. Every time you use white light, your eyes react. With a red flashlight, you can read your star charts, find an eyepiece in your accessory case, or navigate around telescope cables and other obstacles without compromising your night vision. The better your night vision, the more you can see through the eyepiece. The Celestron night vision flashlight uses two LEDs to provide variable red lighting. You can adjust the light as needed with the thumb wheel. The square shape of the flashlight prevents it from rolling off your observation table onto the floor. A lanyard is included so you can wear it around your neck. The night vision flashlight is powered by a 9V battery (included).
