When Castelli developed the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought we were crazy, even some of the professional riders. Back then, aerodynamics was only for time trialists. Performance clothing was synonymous with moisture management. You could win the Tour de France with a wide jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt with pockets on the back. Eventually, however, significant improvements were made that fundamentally changed the appearance of the professional peloton.
