When Castelli developed the first Aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought we were crazy—even some of the professional riders. Back then, aerodynamics was only for time trialists. Performance clothing was synonymous with moisture management. You could win the Tour de France wearing a loose jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt with pockets on the back. Even our aerodynamic consultants expected, at best, only limited improvements, which is why we named the jersey "Split Second." Ultimately, however, significant improvements were achieved, fundamentally changing the appearance of the professional peloton. We are now on the seventh major revision of this jersey and have been able to add even more enhancements. In this update, we have also benefited from CFD analyses of airflow in the riding position and feedback from professional riders to create a jersey that is both fast and comfortable, suitable for long days in the saddle. And for the days when it really matters, it can be combined with our Bolero SS baselayer for even better aero efficiency.
