Maximum insulation and moisture management for rides in cold weather, as a mid-layer between the base layer and jacket.

The Polartec® Alpha® material ensures excellent insulation - soft, elastic, and lightweight. A few years ago, we thought it would be great for base layers, but it felt rather damp and clammy against the skin. However, when we were looking for more warmth for our gravel tours in sub-zero temperatures, we tried the Alpha® prototypes as a second layer over a Prosecco base layer - and thus found the perfect combination for rides in the cold. We worked on the details and perfected this second layer for chilly days. We added a half-length zipper to avoid bulk around the belly area. Additionally, we positioned the zipper slightly off-center to prevent multiple zippers from meeting at the neck. We kept the fit close to the body, giving you the option to tuck it into your tights or wear it over them, as we do. We also found that it works excellently over a Flanders, Bandito, Miracolo, or Seamless base layer.
