The focus of the Gel-Cumulus 23 shoe is to provide an even smoother and softer running experience while implementing gender-specific technology in the men's and women's models. They continue to draw inspiration from cumulus clouds and have redesigned the upper and midsole formation of this neutral running shoe. A more holistic design approach is applied, adapting to the runner's anatomy during movement. The innovative mesh upper wraps the foot with an even softer feel and offers strategic support in certain areas, while some fibers remain more open to enhance breathability. The upper also supports the movement of the midsole, resulting in a softer step from foot strike to toe-off. To improve cushioning and flexibility, a 3D Space Construction has been added to the top layer of the midsole. This technology is implemented through a series of strategically placed supports in the midsole, allowing runners to experience more compression in a specific area without compromising durability or stability. These support formations are tuned differently in the men's and women's models to account for the biomechanical data of each gender. By helping runners appropriately compress the foam during the landing phase of their stride, this shoe promotes a smoother running feel and enhances shock absorption. A softer gel technology unit is positioned under the heel to improve cushioning, while the Flytefoam midsole material ensures a smoother and more stable run. The Asics Lite rubber is made from a sustainable blend in the outsole, is soft, and is designed to enhance durability in high-impact areas.
