AKU Alterra GTX

With the Alterra GTX from Aku, you don't always have to walk in the middle of the path, yet the shoe feels most comfortable on moderate, medium-length tours in mixed terrain. The Alterra is designed for comfort with a tongue made of elastic material without side folds and an elastic collar. Combined with the Internal Midsole System (IMS3), the exoskeleton framework, where the midsole consists of an outer skeleton made of polyurethane and is raised at the back to surround and protect the heel, provides optimal support and stability while walking. The asymmetrical structure, featuring a wider inner part and a polyurethane elevation, offers support to the midfoot while preventing overloading and thus pronation. Integrated into the shoe is the Elica System, which mimics the shape of the footbed, supports the natural inclination of the heel and forefoot, thereby reducing impact and strain, resulting in increased comfort. To protect against dust, pebbles, and rain from above, the Alterra has a gaiter-like flap, and to guard against water from below and the sides, it features a Gore-Tex lining.
