ATK Bindings Raider 13 Evo

The Easy Entry System, snowpack resistant, Cam Release System, Magneto Heel Flap, and all the other features that make the ATK Raider 12 so special are, of course, also included in the Raider 13 EVO. So what is the EVOlution, you ask? Quite simply, but at the highest technical level, the following two issues have been resolved: automatic locking of the stopper in ascent mode and reduced tolerance in the lateral release value.

Here's how it works: When you rotate the heel part of the binding 180° and stand up for the first time, the stopper locks automatically. You still have two well-functioning and sensible climbing aids. Once you rotate the heel part back 180° for the descent, the stopper is reactivated. The hassle with the stopper is eliminated.

With the ability to adjust the lateral release value at the front as well, safety is increased. Previously, classic pin bindings always locked at the front (toe part) with the same force, and the release value was set at the back (heel part). In the Raider 13 EVO, the release value is adjustable at both the front and the back. This means that the toe and heel parts work better together, and the set release value can be adhered to more accurately.

Of course, this also brings some minor disadvantages: the binding is 35 grams heavier than the Raider 12, and the stand height increases by a few millimeters. However, in terms of comfort and safety, the Raider 13 EVO definitely outshines its competitors.
