There is only 1 compartment for water
Sorry I didn't have this problem.
The cloth can be fastened with velcro yes. The length of the Velcro fasteners on the mop is approx. 25 cm and the width approx. 9 cm. Total length of the mop 32.5cm and width ca 12 cm. Hope this helps.
