"Reading Start with Eberhart" is a series of beginner reading booklets featuring short, child-friendly texts and syllable dividers across five difficulty levels.
Each of the 50 booklets comes with a worksheet designed to encourage engagement with the content and support reading comprehension. The worksheets can be easily integrated into classroom instruction.
Children can playfully demonstrate that they have not only read the content of the booklet but also understood it. The respective booklet should be available to the child when working on the worksheet. Each worksheet includes numerous photos and illustrations that create a visual connection to the booklet.
Reading comprehension is assessed through a variety of tasks:
- checking boxes
- coloring
- cutting out
- solving a crossword puzzle
- writing the correct words
In this way, children train additional foundational skills alongside reading, such as using scissors or coloring precisely with colored pencils.
The tasks are self-explanatory, visually engaging, and aligned with the progression of reading levels in terms of difficulty.
For each of the five reading levels, there is also a reading passport available as a copy template with crafting instructions. This allows children not only to show which booklets they have already read but also to keep track of which ones they still need.
With the worksheets, "Reading Start with Eberhart" can be even more effectively anchored in the classroom. Children not only enjoy reading but also experience lasting success while working on the copy templates.
