Zwischen Reich und Republik

The German post-war right is a kind of blank spot on the historical map of the 20th century. This may be surprising given the vast amount of literature published about the right, the far right, radical and extreme right, and of course about neo-Nazis. However, behind these publications there is rarely a genuine interest in understanding. Typically, it is about distortion for the purpose of condemnation. It is therefore time to address the topic of post-war right with the tools of the historian. In this new book by Karlheinz Weissmann, the aim is to provide a genuine assessment of the emergence and development, the rise and fall of various parties and significant organizations to the right of the center, as well as to present their personnel and programs. This also involves answering the question of why a political direction that had such a significant influence on the fate of the Federal Republic in the first two decades after the collapse could later be pushed to the margins, and why it currently seems that this could change.
