Zwischen Integration und Diversifikation

This volume deals with the role of the media in social integration processes, which is more relevant than ever in view of the current rapid developments. How can the tension between media and integration be (re)theorised in the context of digital media constellations? How can the relationship between media communication and the individual be empirically understood in relation to social cohesion? How fruitful have previous communication science models and research approaches been in the individual research areas? The authors provide answers to these and other questions, using a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches that reflect well the current diversity of the sociology of media communication.
