Product details

Friedrich Hechelmann, born in 1948 in Isny im Allgäu, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and was a master student of Rudolf Hausner. In 1972, he illustrated his first fairy tale book 'Zwerg Nase'. Numerous award-winning book illustrations followed, as well as exhibitions, stage designs, films, and publications both at home and abroad: Among his greatest successes are illustrations for romantic fairy tales, as well as the illustrated volumes of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Ovid's Orpheus and Eurydice. The artist lives and works in Allgäu. With the permanent exhibition of his works at the Kunsthalle in Schloss Isny, he has created a vibrant artistic forum for his large, enthusiastic following.

A witch has transformed little Jakob into an ugly dwarf, and he must serve her as a cook for seven years. After that, he is free, but he is mocked by everyone because of his appearance. With the help of the enchanted goose Mimi and the herb Niesmietlust, Jakob can regain his true form.
