Student research project from the year 2015 in the subject area Social Work, grade: 2.3, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover, language: German, abstract: In this student research project, I have dealt in detail with the question of which social and personal causes and conditions can contribute to the development of anorexia. After defining the term anorexia, I went into the historical development. Then I looked at the social causes, such as peer groups, the media, school and society. I also dealt with anorexia in the family, taking a closer look at the individual family members. Finally, I looked at the personal factors and pressures. Here I dealt with the role of puberty, the role of sport, performance thinking and rivalry between peers.
